I believe the answer involved connecting an 8-pin port on the motherboard and using the remaining two cables for the GPU. Glad we found a way, though Discord was more appealing. It would be useful for others to see this thread if the steps were clearly outlined.

I installed the new Corsair PSU, paired the GPU with the 12x6 by 2x1x1 daisy setup and connected the CPU using a single 4x2 socket instead of the 2x2 bracket.
