Hi there. I can assist you with your HP Z420 workstation. What specific issues or questions do you have?
I purchased it last week. Recently I checked the BIOS and noticed it’s not posting anymore. There’s a black screen, fans are spinning very loudly, there’s no flashing light or beeps. After a few seconds, the power button lights up blue. It functioned fine in Windows for a week. Today I only opened the BIOS and closed it without making any changes. It’s a standard build, so nothing was altered. Could you help figure out what might be wrong?
Find the BIOS reset button on the circuit. Disconnect the device, take out the jumper for a few seconds, reattach everything and restart. The picture illustrates the jumper that breaks the power supply to BIOS and clears all configurations.
I gave it a shot. Removed the battery, then used this jumper. A forum post titled "Solved: Jumpers on Z620 FMB-1102 motherboard" from HP Support Community (ID: 5705488) helped. It showed 8 red flashes when it should have restarted itself, and the fans increased in speed.
