Hey there, welcome! I'm here to assist you with overclocking. Let's get started.
i'm just starting with this 'overclocking' thing and heard it could help, so i gave it a shot in a few tries. my asus 4gb gtx970 strix overclocked edition has the standard cooler installed, so i'm wondering what adjustments i can make to get better performance. thanks for the advice!
Download Msi afterburner and Furmark. Launch Msi afterburner to display all GPU clock speeds and temperatures. Adjust the core clock by 10-25mhz increments and test Furmark for a few minutes or two with increases to check stability. When temperatures exceed around 80°C, or if you notice artifacts or crashes, revert the core clock to the last stable setting and repeat the process using the memory clock speed. Raise the power limit as high as possible while keeping voltage minimal, provided temperatures remain acceptable. After reaching your final overclock, run Furmark continuously for an hour to confirm everything functions correctly.
