The adoption is solid for AMD, without any doubt. Many of these units are new and development-focused, so it makes sense that AMD receives attention (an IT professional wouldn't skip evaluation, and AMD wouldn't sell otherwise). I don’t believe you’ll encounter a firm or data centre simply adding Epyc servers just for lower cost or marginal speed gains. Major hardware purchases usually involve a lengthy process—whether it’s heavy machinery, soldering tools in a factory, or servers in a data centre. Also, while GN could relocate hosting to another site during an issue, I haven’t noticed any cases where servers fail so severely that an early upgrade becomes necessary.

It's not just a small improvement—it delivers significant gains. With performance soaring around 170%, costs dropping below one-third, power usage minimal, and security flawless, it becomes a strong contender. Remember the original Rome benchmarks from a few months ago?

I'll wait for the benchmarks. Got X299 Dark already, which is a shame. But at least the GPU and CPU will be about the same price as a new Intel CPU, so I still have some choices.

After four years without updates, the situation becomes problematic. If Intel had launched 10nm on schedule, these issues would mainly impact older processors. However, since the industry continues to rely on Skylake architecture, even the newest CPUs remain vulnerable.

Isn’t this the situation we’ve faced for years now? It’s still unclear what’s going on.
