My laptop won't turn on, plug into the wall, or just sit there. To make it work, I have to wait about a week without using it before plugging it in and turning it on. Once it is on, it stays up for maybe five minutes, then shuts down again and refuses to start over for another week or so. What is causing this problem? How can I fix it? Things I tried but didn't help: Swapping the battery Changing a different charger/power adapter Any suggestions? Since I have no warranty left on this device, if I cannot get it working, it will go to the trash. It looks like an Inspiron from Dell based on this picture: https://gyazo.com/6e9f2c17ddd9b50cbcefcccc4a506058 Thanks!

Unplug the device, hold the power button until it restarts, then turn it off. Try this right after unplugging to see if it starts up again quickly.

Looks like your computer is too hot. Try opening the bottom part to check if the fans are spinning when you start it up.
