Hey, my laptop screen and USB ports are broken?
My computer is an Acer V5 531. I opened it up, put it back together tightly, turned it on, but the screen stayed black even though everything else was working fine. Also, the USB and HDMI ports aren't working at all. When I looked under the lid after opening it completely, I saw two wires supposed to be soldered onto small metal dots. One of those wires isn't attached, so I'm wondering if that's the problem? How do I fix this? I really need my computer back ASAP and would prefer to fix it myself at home before calling a pro who might take too long. I also sent you a picture showing exactly where I am pointing with an arrow at the disconnected part. This isn't my actual laptop, but it's the same model. Here is my serial number: 1CB8A548-02FB-4436-A0A6-C4EA99F73C0B from SENDEYO. I hope someone can help me get this working quickly. Thanks a lot!
Hi, this picture shows the wifi card on your laptop. It should use white and black wires, but that's not the problem. Look at the website link: https://images.app.goo.gl/oWJsuUwSzdz5516y5. On top of the board, there is a special connector with many pins right on it. That one is for your screen display. When you plug in the cable, make sure to turn off the battery and cut the power first because the wires carry electricity all the time. If you don't do that, you might create a short circuit. Try plugging it back in carefully and check if everything looks good. You also have ports for things like the keyboard and mouse, but please start by connecting just the display screen to see if it works properly first.
