Hey, my ethernet connection is broken. I got a little bit of trouble with that on Windows 11.
Hey, my wifi is working well. I get anywhere from 280 to 415 megabytes per second. My main home router is behind two walls. When I plug my PC into the ethernet cable of my router in my office, I can load a couple of pages, but then it stops working. If I run a speed test quickly, the numbers go up to about 400 before they stop and show an error. Then I get a "socket" message on my screen. If I unplug the ethernet from the PC and restart internet, everything comes back online. I have reset my network settings, removed and put back drivers, cleared my IP config in CMD, flushed the system through commands, checked the BIOS to make sure it's turned on, run a long scan for malware, set DNS to auto, and swapped out cables. Any help would be great?
I use tools like speedtest.net to see how fast my internet is going over the wire. This helps me compare things easily. How many feet does that cable go from your house to my office? Also, how many switches are in between? Have you turned off the Wi-Fi in Control Panel and Device Manager before? Newer Windows systems want to use the Wi-Fi by default instead of Ethernet on my PC, which can cause trouble if both are running. Also, if you try two routers at once, they won't work together well; you have to pick just one anyway.
