Hey, I need some advice on how to speed up my RAM by overclocking it.
I have two sticks of Corsair Vengeance RAM set to 2133 MHz and two sticks of Corsair XMS3 RAM set to 1600 MHz. I am currently running everything at 1800 MHz. My computer has an i7 4790, a GTX 1070, 16 GB of RAM, a Z97 gaming motherboard, and an integrated graphics chip. The Vengeance sticks have timings of 11-11-11-27 at 1.65v, while the XMS3 sticks have timings of 9-9-9-24 at 1.65v. I am very close to running my games at a stable 240 FPS, so I am trying to overclock my RAM for more speed. Any help is appreciated!
run the two RAM sticks at 1.65V and 1866MHz for better timing. You can try this schedule: 9-10-10-10-26-1T. Right now I'm using DDR3 1600, 2x4GB modules, but every stick is a different speed. When I set the timings like this, Primary: 9-9-9-24-1T and Secondary: Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC): 160 Row to Row Delay (tRRD): 4 Write Recovery Time (tWR): 10 Read To Read Delay (tRTR): 4 Read To Write Delay (tRTW):6 Write to Read Delay (tWTR):5 Write to Write Delay (tWTW):4 Read to Precharge (tRTP): 5 Four Act Win Time (tFAW): 16 Refresh Period Interval (tREF or tREFI): 6240, I get much lower latency and faster read/write/copy speeds. This is my setup for DDR3 1600. If your computer won't turn on, just bump up every timing by one number except tREF. Higher refresh times give you more performance but at the cost of stability.
Can't figure out why taking a picture takes so long... wait, that's the camera flash timing thing.
Could you please show me your RAM timings from the BIOS screen right now?
