Hello, I have a problem with downloading on Steam. Ever since I built my PC, Steam downloads have been very slow. When I use other programs, my speeds are fast, but Steam just doesn't work. I watched many videos and they all failed, so I am here to ask for help. The download speed is going up and down in a steady pattern, normally around 40-50 KBs. My hard drive looks fine, but the network is really bad, and it seems to be affecting my hard drive usage.

I think the issue is that my hard drive has a lot of stuff on it. There are still about eighty gigabytes free, but maybe that's why. Thanks for helping me, I will tell you later if clearing out some things fixes the problem.

Sure thing, just leave a little room. On hard disks, losing that space doesn't hurt how long they last, but it makes them run slower. I guess if you don't have enough free space on Windows, the drive icon will turn red and show less than 10%.

Make sure to refresh your download servers too and wipe out any old download files.

Like Old Molases said, clear the download cache, move to a different Steam server, and check your internet connection. Doing this could fix slow downloads.
