using simpler, more common words:

Above information tells me about my old laptop. I want to upgrade its RAM from 8GB to 16GB. After researching a little bit, I learned that both new memory sticks need to have the same speed as each other. Another thing I found is that my CPU only supports up to 2400mhz for maximum speed. Correct me if I am wrong about these two facts!

I don't know much about this topic. When I looked at software showing numbers on both memory sticks, I guessed my current RAM goes up to 1600mhz. If I want to upgrade it properly, I would have to buy new RAM that matches this speed (2400mhz). But that wouldn't let me use the full power of my CPU which is 2400mhz. So, should I buy two sticks of 8GB RAM running at 2400mhz? Or can I put a stick with 2400mhz speed next to my old one in the PC?

Get yourself a stick of 1600MHz RAM, then put your topic in the right spot on this forum.

If I want to go from my current speed to 2400 mhz, will I need two extra sticks? I am just starting here on the forum, so please be kind if you are new.
