Hey, I can't get in to my home computer's internet right now?
actually, I did. but sadly, this router doesn't support WDS and can't be used as a repeater. so i need to connect it directly through the LAN port... the main router is on another floor and running wires isn't an option. also, i have a TP-Link router that works as a range extender, so i'm using that one for this job... even though its quality isn't great! I don't know if normal to destroy ping when you use a repeater or if the router itself is broken somehow
If you plan to use this device alone, I'd start by making sure its IP address doesn't match yours on the main network. If your main router uses 192.168.1.1, just set this one to something like 192.168.10.1 or 99.1. Just make it a different number so Windows and your main system don't get mixed up with the same DHCP server.
i guess that's the same thing as well. i set it to 1.100 one time and another network was just 1.1, so nothing changed. i just reset my modem for something else this time and didn't change anything. why are three other systems working fine but only this computer? even when i turned off my windows firewall it still didn't work. also i can log in to 192.168.1.1 on the broken pc, so the path isn't blocked. my motherboard has a built-in wifi adapter, maybe that's why it's acting up. i thought it might be about wifi-6 but this router only has wifi n, and i tried using two other wifi n adapters with no luck too.
To have its own separate network group, you need to make sure the third number is not the same as your current one. Don't forget to change the very last number. Are you setting up a new public network instead of a private one?
it's not private actually, but i turned on all the options before trying anything else. by the way, after installing a fresh copy of Windows 11, i didn't connect to my main network at first. when i tried connecting to the wifi as my first connection (before messing up with windows), if that was what happened...
Can someone help me share a picture? I just figured out something. My laptop is on 21h2 and the PC is on 22h2. When I clicked the printer button, then went to properties, it opened a page with eight tabs. On tab three (ports), there was an option for Canon that had an IP address. Then I picked configuration, and suddenly a new page popped up... it looked totally different from what I saw on my laptop.
On my laptop, there was just a small pop-up window. One part said 192.168.1.1:631/printers/canon-6030 security option is on the first mode (use anonymous account). The other two used to say windows OR use specific account... that's all it had. But on my broken PC, there was a HUGE box with so many options, and at the very top was the IP address just like this one but something about configuring it. My laptop doesn't have those features because I don't remember them well. Is there any way to copy exact settings and drivers from my laptop to my PC?
From ipconfig /all: Lease got. . . : Tuesday, Feb 14, 2023 at 2:22 AM. The lease expires in 24 hours (at 2:22 PM). That feels wrong because the time is the same. Keep connected devices from asking for new IP addresses every minute. Set the lease time to more than 24 hours if you want it to last longer. For example, set it to one week (168 hours). The router or gateway that gives out those IPs should be at 192.168.1.1, or wherever your network gets them.
It comes in both morning (AM) and evening (PM), which means the clock goes back to zero each day. Everything works just like that for me.
