I would look at those posts first so I know this isn't just bad wiring or some weird setting. Trying to fix things with QoS without knowing the real problem usually doesn't work well. Often, it's better if you aren't even trying to fix a broken connection using QoS. You'd have to replace your router with a better one and maybe change settings. The qdisc spreads bandwidth across every connection and drops connections that use too much first. This mostly helps gaming. Any quality of service needs you to take a 5% to 15% hit in speed to control TCP traffic. It can work really well. It won't be as smooth when everyone else is at home. You probably need to buy a router that supports this feature either for DOCSIS or fiber connections fine. If you have DSL, cake can give better performance. Configuration is simple: set your bandwidth limit. Some implementations cut off a percentage of what you type. Just keep trying different settings on dslreports or another test site until you find the A+ speed.
