Hey! You’ve got a laptop at school, just like most students. The school uses a domain that requires a login without reinstalling Windows, which is why they don’t share passwords for the Wi-Fi. You’re wondering if you can transfer the domain settings using Windows 8 from Windows 7, or if you can wipe the SSD, reinstall Windows, and reapply the domain afterward. Also, you mentioned a logon script in System32 that runs when you connect to school Wi-Fi but not at home—it looks like a domain login script. Is there a way to find it? When the system starts, it shows up as cmd.exe with no other options. Thanks for asking—this is really helpful!

I truly believe that enabling this would undermine the reason for using a password. Reach out to your IT department. Additionally, stick to your own subject matter—no one follows their own interests these days!

When you begin a topic, a follow topic checkbox appears. Clicking the follow this topic button on the page will alert you promptly when someone posts.
