I remember starting out with Arch on my gaming PC, and it's time for some improvements. I appreciate any advice or feedback from the community. The hardware probe link I shared uses the command `sudo hw-probe -all -upload`. Looking forward to hearing your Linux-friendly suggestions. Thank you ahead of time!

I just got Arco yesterday and plan to install it on a second HDD this weekend. My main PC is already running Arch, but I’m expecting Arco to come with some neat pre-set configurations. I’ll give it a try and see if it’s worth switching. For your question, it really doesn’t matter much. Just pick the best components you can afford—they usually work well with Linux. The only caveat is the GPU; if you can, stick with AMD because Nvidia’s drivers are closed-source and not ideal for gaming (though they’re decent for CUDA).

Thanks for the details. I have an AMD Ryzen 3 2300X quad-core CPU, an XFX Pine Radeon RX 570 graphics card, an MSI A320M-HDV R4 motherboard, an 8TB HDD, a 250GB SSD, and 32GB RAM. I’m looking for upgrade ideas for these components. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It depends on your specific needs. If you're experiencing limited input/output, low FPS, or insufficient performance, our recommendations will adjust based on your feedback. If you're happy with the results, investing in better hardware won't add value since you'll already have the performance you want. Personally, I'd consider upgrading the motherboard for PCIe Gen 4 and support for the latest Ryzen CPUs, but it's ultimately your decision.

I'm uncertain about this. Games such as Skyrim can feel unstable when loading. World of Warships runs smoothly with a 1208MHz GPU and 1750MHz RAM. Perhaps my explanation wasn't clear enough, showing a lack of knowledge about hardware. I'd like to enjoy AAA titles on my old Ryzen 3 and RX570, but they seem to struggle. Since I got this PC prebuilt, it's not as if I designed it myself. Hope this helps. If not, maybe my communication skills are lacking in this area—I apologize for that.

You can find a RX 6800 (or 6800 xt) on eBay for a price close to $1000, which is an AMD model running Linux. It offers the biggest boost for gaming compared to your current RX 570.

You can upgrade your RX 570 to a Ryzen 5 3600 to avoid CPU limitations. Make sure your motherboard supports the 3XXX Ryzen chip before proceeding.

Obtain 3200mhz RAM and upgrade to a Ryzen 7 or 5 based on your available budget. For a GPU upgrade, consider the 2060 Super or 1080 Ti depending on your funds. Install an SSD if you don’t already have one.
