It was set up in dual boot, but after the upgrade the GRUB menu disappeared and I haven’t had a chance to restore it. I’m really frustrated—I can’t believe I’d be tempted to just play Whine for my games, man! That’s how mad I am.

Try this setup on a different machine and let me know what you experience. Most of Valve's titles are compatible with Linux, but switching to BSD made it difficult to play. Steam OS is worth a shot.

Currently Steam OS only allows games from Valve. I hope Witcher 3 can be released for it and I’ll never go back to Windows again.

Yes, I understand it only works with Valve titles. I confirmed that every Valve game is compatible with Linux.
