I have 200 downloads and 20 uploads using a Powerline Adapter, but I experience major ping spikes during gaming—ping jumps from 9 to 500, and the game often freezes. Turning it off and on again helps for a few hours, but then lag returns. I’m considering switching to a WiFi adapter, though I’m concerned about losing the same speeds since I’m farther from my router.
You may experience lag spikes when using a Wi-Fi adapter, particularly if you're not close to your router. Is there a way to use a long Ethernet cable (they're affordable) and conceal it behind the wall? They often have openings on the back, so you could tuck the cable inside like this: Spoiler
wifi gaming tends to feel slow, the best fix is using an ethernet connection. any upgrades to your wifi card or modem won’t make much of a difference at all. also consider the location of the servers you’re trying to join—playing in the usa might give you better performance than connecting from australia.
