I just had a new Windows set up and I can't use internet through my ethernet, when I plugged in the wire to my laptop it works fine on that one. What is wrong with my computer?

Do you have the driver for the network card installed? You also need to install the chipset drivers on your motherboard before getting the LAN driver.
