Yeah, it's running at 2666 mhz and the timing settings are fine, but using just one memory stick with only 1x 16gb is way slower than having two. If your model has two slots, you should always plug in both sticks instead of just one.
Is the old 8gb ram the exact same model as this 16gb? If yes, just put that in slot2. If no, send it back (if you still have it), buy a new one with the same model, or get an 8gb/16gb stick from the same factory and same timing/rank specs.
Okay. Well at first I tried searching for an 8gb memory stick, but I didn't find one with the same model number. I have already asked my store to send me a return for what I got. So the best move would be to buy a kit that uses two sticks of 8gb RAM, right? Two sticks at 2666mhz and it should work faster
I really wanted them to let me pick more than one post at a time, because that fixed my problem. I just want to say thank you, nighthawkrmx - your reply was exactly the same thing as mine.
That is exactly how my ASUS A17 FA707RM looks right now after the upgrade yesterday. So, there isn't any way to change the clock speed if that is what it shows me? What makes it look like this, is it the RAM or the board itself? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLTDRRLF (by the way, I never used AI Tweaker before but I had no idea about overclocking it yet). It says it's running at 4800.
