I bought a Dell Latitude E6430s laptop recently. I needed to swap out my hard drive and CMOS battery. I chose Kubuntu 22.04 because it came with Windows 7 installed. The laptop only lets me install Linux in legacy mode, but says an "Invalid partition table" error when trying to boot in UEFI mode. When I try to boot in UEFI, the screen shows: "Time-of-day not set - please run SETUP program To continue press F1 key To change setup option press F2 key To run onboard diagnostic press F5". If I switch the boot order to UEFI and fix the date/time, it boots to Kubuntu but then gives me the "Time of date not set" error again after a reboot. Do you have any ideas? Thanks.
Have you turned on your CMOS battery to make sure it's plugged right, got the plus or minus side right, and is actually giving out enough power? Make sure the voltages show up at least at 3 volts. Then try updating the BIOS settings.
