I have an ASUS GU502LW Zephyrus M15 and I didn't face this issue before, but now every time I play a game it starts fast like League of Legends at 200 frames per second but after about 5 to 10 minutes the frame rate drops way down to only 80 or 90. I tried other games too but still have the same problem. The GPU usage is normal for simple games, staying around 30% to 50%, but after a while it spikes up to 100% and frames drop again. This keeps happening until I restart the game, at which point it stays stable for another 10 minutes before spiking starts again. I reinstalled almost all of my drivers and updated everything else but the problem is still there. So when I play a simple game called "The Long Dark" and use HWINFO to check stats, I see spikes going up to 99% but don't know what caused it since no other program besides the game was using the GPU. If you could help me out, I will post my HWINFO file link here. Maybe you can see something I missed? Thanks a lot in advance! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1auPvOfe...sp=sharing

Your computer is getting hot. If it hits over 90 degrees Celsius, your processor will slow down to save power. That's why things feel sluggish.

You might try replacing it with new thermal paste to fix this problem.

I'm pretty sure my laptop has a cool thing built in that I can't figure out exactly which one it is.

It's a laptop though. You can't just swap out the cooler because they run hot, so what model is this? Nvm maybe I should have read the thread lol... my bad... repasting might help a little bit. I think that model used liquid metal right? If you are new to things and don't know what you are doing, don't take it apart! Liquid metal conducts heat all over the place and cleaning it up is a big mess.

I was thinking of switching out thermal paste but then remembered it uses liquid metal. I'm not sure if that is what is causing the issue. I have had this laptop for about 10 months and it just didn't make sense that it would dry up so fast, which is really confusing me right now.

Ten months old? Just send them back for a refund if they're not on Asus's list.
