My R7 5700X pin is curved, the one on the far right. It still fits in the CPU socket and I also have my old R5 3400G. I put that one in too, and it behaves similarly—giving the same amount of flex or movement. I've been using this CPU for a month now, and I'm getting a new case and cooler tomorrow, so I'm cleaning up all my components. Could this bend be normal? MSI B450 tomahawk motherboard

It doesn't matter if it functions; it works. It seems to be a small adjustment at most.

I’m hoping so! I’ll only use my parts again on Monday or Tuesday once the case comes in. I’ve noticed some folks removing pins from CPUs and they still manage to boot. In the worst case, I might have to bend it straight, but I think it’ll be okay.

You can gently shape it straight using a slender knife, a credit card, or similar tools, though the adjustment is so slight it might end up even worse

Use an old credit card. Slide it in one side, then repeat on the opposite side along the groove between the pins. You might need to gently nudge it; handle carefully. Check the pins from every angle to ensure they’re straight before inserting. If you feel strong resistance, pull it out and verify your pins again. Avoid forcing it into the socket, as this can cause more pin damage.

My ideas match perfectly. It fits just right in the socket, similar to my straight pinned Ryzen 3400G. I don’t like handling electronics and prefer keeping things simple. That’s why I’m avoiding opening up my power supply—it sounds risky. Thanks for your support! Your reassurance eases my worries.

You’ve perfected the technique for aligning pins at a 90-degree angle—once it’s done right, leave it alone.
