My old laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad S340-14API running on Ryzen 7 3700U. It arrived in 2020, and I needed a wired internet connection to make things work smoothly, so I bought this no-brand Type-C Hub with an RJ45 port and three extra USB ports. For two years, everything was fine until now. Recently, the ethernet cable started acting up. Sometimes my laptop switches between using Wi-Fi and connecting via the LAN wire every couple of seconds. That really bothered me because I use Voicemeeter Banana to send audio back and forth from my desktop and laptop. So, I unplugged the LAN cable and switched to Wi-Fi just in case my audio would cut off. The three USB ports also didn't work right away; they got disconnected and reconnected at random times throughout the day. Since my main job is streaming video, these weird connection hiccups really hurt me because it affects my display too. Now, when I use the capture card that comes from my gaming PC connected to those same USB ports, I start getting blue screen errors. The error message says "SYSTEM_ THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" and tags ndis.sys. After looking into this, I figured these blue screens might be because of an external device, like a faulty hub. That's why I think the USB hub is the problem. For testing purposes, I unplugged the hub from my laptop entirely and plugged the capture card directly into the computer instead. Since then, there have been no issues at all! But now I don't need those ports anymore because I'm not using the hub. So, I am looking to buy a new Type-C Hub from a reliable brand like UGREEN. Even though I trust UGREEN and their product quality, I still have some doubts on my own laptop. Any good tips or advice would be really helpful for me here.

NDIS.SYS crashes seem like a problem with the network card. It is almost certainly not your computer's fault. I haven't tried the UGREEN hub myself, but the BASEUS one has been working perfectly for me.

NDIS.sys errors happen because of a network switch or adapter, not because your PC is broken. I haven't tried using UGREEN gear myself, though Baseus works great for me so far.

The network card makes my laptop shake up no matter what, even when I take out the ethernet wire.

Sure, that's possible. The term NDIS actually means N e twork D river I nterface S pecification driver wrapper, but you don't need to remember all those letters in daily life. It just helps the computer talk to our apps better.
