Hi, I just bought a new computer. When I started up the first time, everything was orange then fixed when I moved some RAM sticks. But now it's won't turn on and shows white or green lights. Also: my old laptop broke, so I put an SSD with Windows 11 into this new PC. The big problem is that my old one had Intel chips but the new one has AMD. I haven't tried a USB drive yet. Just hoping to get into BIOS to see what's wrong. Does it load into BIOS if it doesn't find the OS or if they don't match up? Thanks! Any info I already know would be great.

Are there any details about the new computer's settings or brand? I know it makes more sense to put a fresh copy of Windows onto the new parts than just reusing an old one. Got you right?

It's unlikely your laptop's hard drive starts up on another computer. Instead, remove the disk and try turning it into the BIOS so you can check what's wrong.

Here is the list of computer parts I have, including a mini ITX motherboard and a Ryzen 9700X CPU. I also bought a 650W power supply, an AMD 5060 Ti graphics card with two fans, and some RAM sticks from Crucial.

I need to tell you that this machine might still work fine, but it could require the parts to be reinstalled or reset in BIOS mode. Since I don't want to risk losing important files inside my computer, I am just asking if everything is set up correctly without errors when I try to load into BIOS. Also, even though connecting HDMI to the motherboard gave me a message about TPM/PSP errors after installing the new CPU, using that same port on the graphics card shows nothing on the screen while the fans are spinning.

Thanks a lot, I'm going to do that. If I take it out, there won't be any hard drive involved.

Sure, so if the computer's motherboard starts the process of bringing up its BIOS...

You already have built-in graphics inside your CPU. You can fix your issue by just using those CPU graphics and the motherboards video ports instead of other options.

It is working now. I took out the graphics card and the hard drive, and since those two items are gone, everything seemed fine. But when I tried to put the graphics card in, I saw a metal part sticking out. I think this piece of hardware might be why it won't fit all the way in or isn't showing up at all. White light? Does that sound right?

Your computer has a special spot for that barrier. It shouldn't cause any trouble. Did you manage to open up the BIOS menu?

It's not the notch itself, but a metal piece inside the smaller slot. It sticks out in the middle when you push down. Don't think it will go all the way in. Here comes the BIOS problem; I know how to fix that now. But the GPU is causing those white lights on the board, probably because of me. I can't break it by pushing harder since it already bent while I tried.
