I use a time tracking sheet that shows start times and end times in military format. In a third column, I want to calculate how many hours and minutes are passed between when someone left and when they arrived (time out minus time in). But the math on my screen is confusing. Could you please help me with this?

You likely need to add a hidden column to turn those numbers into real time, then you can easily do some math. For instance, check out this link to learn how to use the Excel TIMEVALUE function: https://fiveminutelessons.com/learn-micr...time-excel

Does it store the clock times as text like "12:00 PM" or does it save them in a special Excel format?

I think it's going to be a string. Basically, you just write down 1300 when the clock shows 1:00.

It sounds like you probably want to make a hidden column that turns text into the right time format so that it's much easier to do math. For example, go here: https://fiveminutelessons.com/learn-micr...time-excel
