Here are some tips to help you build a new computer.
Hey guys! I'm going to put together my first computer super long after putting mine down. I don't know all the parts yet, but can you help me get a really good one for about $1500? The plan is mostly to play games like Dota 2 and Counter Strike 2. Thanks way ahead of time!
Here is a list of parts for my build, but I had to change things up. I picked an AMD Ryzen 5 7500F CPU with a DeepCool AK400 cooler and a MSI motherboard that has WiFi. I'm using Kingston FURY Beast Black memory in 32GB (two sticks of 16GB) for fast speeds, plus an EXPO connection set to CL30. My storage is on the WD Black SN7100 2TB M.2 drive. To keep things quiet and cool, I used a case from be quiet! Pure Base with air intake options. For power, Seasonic FOCUS GX-850 V4 provides enough energy at 850W Gold rating for ATX setup. My graphics card is the Palit GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Infinity with 16GB of VRAM in a budget-friendly way.
The total cost comes out to around $2,616.26 if I look at it right now in BGN or roughly $1,515 today based on exchange rates. If you need a big screen for gaming, you might have to cut back on the parts and quality instead of going with this setup. Another option would be to find an old graphics card on a second-hand site so I don't spend as much money right now.
I wouldn't suggest changing much if you have money to spare. But if saving is a must, look for cheaper m.2 drives and cases plus an older video card like the 7700xt. The 7700xt is pretty fast at its basic job of drawing pictures on screen. That said, it loses some modern tricks compared to the rtx 5060ti. For example, newer cards can make games run smoother in frame rates and have better DLSS features. The older version lacks those upgrades too, even though it has more VRAM which could be useful later when new games come out. If you want ray tracing, the 7700xt is still not as good as the newer card, so that's a big trade-off there. Also, adding ray tracing makes things run faster on screen but also costs more money upfront. The GPU is really important and probably the most important part of your gaming system overall. The 5060ti isn't perfect in any way, but it fits best within your budget right now. An RTX 5070 would be about 35% faster on average though, but that price comes with a small extra cost to pay.
