Thanks! It seems like a promising option. I'll check it out if it interests me.

I appreciate the dependability of my r7000 and find the range sufficient. The problem I faced was that parental controls required a subscription. If I decided to upgrade, I’d like to explore options for users with experience using various wifi 6 routers.

You're interested in parental controls such as pfSense, Untangle, and PiHole (likely). These tools can help set up filters. You might also manage DNS settings using OpenDNS.

The UniFi app includes parental controls without cost. I haven't adjusted them recently and mostly prefer Dell versions, though I found Ubiquiti's setup more appealing. If you wish to experiment with the software prior to purchasing, you can install UniFi on your device for free—it's readily available online.

adjust internet schedules for specific gadgets so your child's tablet works only after school between 5 and 7 pm. laptops get online from 8 am to 4:30 pm during school hours. the ps4 can connect on weekends from 10 am to 2 pm. these are just a few instances.

I've reviewed the details, I'll likely try it out further before deciding. I'm also considering PFSense and will keep an eye on reliable Wi-Fi 6 options. Still unsure about upgrading to Wi-Fi 6 yet—I wonder if waiting a few more years makes sense.

The device’s built-in network doesn’t support WiFi 6 yet. However, they’re planning to launch APs with that technology soon. The release date is uncertain. I saw a mention around May 21st in 2020, but it seems the timeline is still unclear. If you need WiFi 6 immediately, @tarfeef101 offers a solid alternative.
