I’m using the virgin media superhub 2 right now, but it struggles with WiFi and gaming performance. I’ve tried everything possible to boost my setup (including wired options), yet results haven’t improved. Do you have any recommendations for routers that are better suited for gamers? I was considering the XR700 and Asus Rapture 5300.

Usually when a wired link fails, the problem lies with the ISP. Have you run a speed test to confirm your connection speed? Also, do you experience problems at specific times of day? I’ve also observed some issues. Checking the Superhub 2 indicates it’s a Docsis 3.0 Gateway supporting wireless AC, meaning it functions as both modem and router. You shouldn’t connect two routers together, as it can lead to double NAT and poor gaming performance. There are workarounds, but first confirm whether the issue is with the router hardware or the internet service itself.
