Hey! I've attempted to overclock my CPU to 4.2 Ghz but then the PC shuts down immediately or powers back on, showing errors like "incorrect settings". I was hoping you could assist by sharing proper settings for a stable OC, including CPU VCore values and which options to disable in BIOS. My system uses a Gigabyte 990FX Gaming SLI. Thanks!
Disable Cool N Quiet and Turbo Core. Adjust voltage to the default, set base clock to 200MHz with a multiplier of 20. If you've modified any overclocking or power delivery settings, revert them now. Once we reach a stable 4000MHz, I'll explain the next steps.

Understood! I appreciate your guidance, but should I turn off the HPC mode or is that what you mean? Also, are XMP profiles needed for RAM?
HPC has minimal impact on overclocking. Test it both enabled and disabled to check for any changes.
To decide if XMP is right for you, I need to know the RAM's capacity and speed.
I have set up the HyperX Beast with 8GB dual channel memory at 1866Mhz DDR3.
I turned off Cool&Quiet and CPU unlock, set the CPU ratio to 20, but the PC still shuts down and restarts.
