Hey, I was reading about how frames go from one CATe cable to another using 1000 BASE T. Someone shared this picture too. It looks weird to me because the last sentence says something that doesn't make sense. The text says: "Since information travels at the same speed across all four paths, the circuitry has to split the frames at the transmitter and put them back together at the receiver." Does this mean each frame is cut up and its bits go through the four ways in parallel? Or does it look like every single pair gets a different frame at any given time? Can you help me understand this part? Thanks so much.

Where did you get that sketchy diagram? I don't remember the details, but I know that when using gigabit ethernet, they use a method called 4d-pam5. Basically, this takes every single byte of data and sends all eight bits at once in parallel. Then it splits each pair into two separate bits to send over the wire.
