I’m facing problems with my RAM speed dropping from 6000MHz to 4800MHz. It started after building the system in February and hasn’t been stable since then. The issue appears only when I power off or restart the computer. After a restart, the motherboard’s DRAM light turns on but nothing displays on the monitors. I’m unsure what’s causing this and reached out for advice. My specs are: GPU PowerColor hellhound 7800xt, CPU Ryzen 7600x, motherboard ASUS TUF Gaming B650-PLUS, RAM Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2x16GB). I have Intel XMP ready mode enabled and DOCP turned on. During writing, my PC blue screened, possibly linked to the same problem. Any guidance would be really helpful.

This BIOS revision is currently installed. I've tested several others, noting performance varies from solid to problematic, especially with AM5. The BSOD code suggests a memory-related issue rather than a driver fault, indicating a potential faulty RAM module or an incompatible version for your system.

No, I haven't tried to reset the CMOS.

This version doesn't work well with AM5. Consider returning it if possible. Otherwise, experiment with a few BIOS versions to find a stable match for your memory kit. If that fails, you'll need to sell the kit and purchase alternatives that are compatible.

It might assist if the CMOS is cleared.

Consider testing the latest update first. Also, rearranging the RAM might provide some improvement.

I might try it, though I have some unusual aspects of the newest BIOS for that board. If you notice other strange behavior unrelated to memory, switching to another BIOS could help. It wouldn't hurt, but I'm not sure it would make a difference. Give it a go if you're curious.

Checked the ASUS site and confirmed compatibility. Your outdated chipset driver might also be a factor to consider.

The updated BIOS might offer some improvement. It's important to remember that the QVL isn't always reliable, so I wouldn't rely heavily on it. The problem with those kits is they require specific memory training steps to function correctly, which can only be achieved through a BIOS update.
