Hello, I have a decently functional laptop that I’d like to upgrade. I’ve installed an SSD and it’s performing really well now. The main issue is that it’s still quite old and has limited RAM. I’m trying to figure out which RAM size would fit this HP 250 G6 model. I understand that desktops require matching RAM with the motherboard, but I’m not sure about the exact specifications for my laptop. Would you be able to help me determine the appropriate RAM capacity? Thank you!

Remove the bottom panel to see which stick you have and if there’s space for an upgrade without swapping out the existing one. It’s possible the current setup might already be soldered. My concerns about CPU-Z are valid since the listed frequency seems quite low.

I see.. So there might not even be an option to add ram then. If there is a slot, or if i can only remove the ram, i can just put in whatever ram stick i want that can fit the specific connection?

Open the laptop Check if there is a slot available. You will need a SO DIMM Check the frequency and the case latency If you get a so dimm with lower frequency the imc will run all sticks at the speed of the slowest one As for cas latency Different cas latencies should work but it could cause problems But any so dimm should work.
