Hey everyone. I'm trying to improve my memory setup. Right now I have 16GB (2x8) Patriot Viper Steel Series with 3200MHz, and I'm planning to upgrade to 32GB at 3600MHz.
I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600X on a Gigabyte Aorus Elite V2 B550 board, and everything is working well so far.
The issue I'm facing is that the options I've seen aren't listed on Gigabyte's QVL. The ones that are available are either not there anymore, discontinued, or extremely costly. I think the QVL might not have been updated recently, and searching online has given me a lot of conflicting info, which is confusing.
I've checked several RAM models and was just curious if anyone could confirm compatibility or suggest alternatives. Or maybe I'm in for a tough decision.

Ensure you have compatible supported RAM. Visit a RAM vendor's website and check their compatibility list for your CPU and motherboard. Use CPU-Z to confirm your motherboard and BIOS version. Consider purchasing a 32GB kit; adding another 16GB might not work well or could cause issues.

Of course I need reliable RAM. The issue is the QVL on the Gigabyte website for my board and CPU setup is quite old: most of the RAM shown isn't available or has been discontinued. I'm also changing the memory configuration, not just adding another 16GB to what I already have. So, I'm considering swapping the 2x8GB for 2x16GB. But, as I mentioned: Gigabyte's QVL is outdated and it seems many people use memory that isn't listed there.
Thanks for the suggestion. I chose the Corsair Vengeance LPX 32gb (2x16) because it was available on sale. If I encounter any issues, I won’t be in a difficult financial spot. Based on the partpicker site and some research, it should work, so I’m hoping for a smooth experience.

I noticed a slight variation in memory configuration on the Aorus ax v2. It includes a mix of Adata 16Gig sticks, with two units at 3600 cl and another at 18. Everything operates smoothly at its rated speed. The remaining two are 3200 cl sticks. There’s no noticeable difference between running 3200 or 3600 memory unless tested under benchmarks, after which only a minor increase appears with the 3600 configuration.
3200 cl 16 is just as fast as 3600 cl 18.
Consider expanding your search to a 32Gig kit, using two 16G sticks if you opt for 3200 cl.
