Help with GPU OC
Hello, I'm completely new to OC but decided to customize my GPU (Zotac GTX 1080 AMP Extreme). Today I began watching some beginner-friendly YouTube videos and found Jayztwocents.
This is his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUEMS-B1...Jl2NfP5peg
I completed all the initial steps, downloaded MSI Afterburner, and ran the first Valley Benchmark. Then I set both Power Limit and Temperature Limit to maximum and increased the Core Clock by 100MHz. When I started the benchmark, Valley crashed immediately. At the end, I realized my GPU supports a max clock of 40MHz or higher. If I exceeded that, it crashed right away. Is my GPU behaving oddly? I saw other OC videos and everyone could easily reach over 200MHz.
Am I doing something wrong? Are there any hidden BIOS settings I should check?
Thanks for your help
(And sorry for my poor English)
It looks like you might have missed out on the GPU chip selection. You could try adjusting the voltage, but doing so carries some risk once you start experimenting.
Zotac AMP is already built for maximum performance and stays within the highest power limits. To determine its ideal power usage, focus on its power goals before adjusting GPU or memory speeds. The recommended approach is using a complete EKWB GPU waterblock with custom liquid cooling.
