Help With Boot Device Swap

Hello, this setup seems to be in a different location. I recently experienced a motherboard failure while cleaning the graphics card. It ended up shorting when reinstalling. I saved all my drives and stored them in an old PC until I get a new motherboard. Unfortunately, it doesn’t boot from the old SSD—it’s just very slow. I’m unsure if the issue is due to motherboard compatibility (it’s a Foxconn DG33M33 with a Core 2 Quad and HDD3650), but I need the SSD to function. If it doesn’t work, I might have to go through some trouble. My drive is a 128GB Samsung 470 model.

I received the request as an SSD, old boot, storage, and storage. The BIOS indicates no boot devices were installed since I specifically selected the SSD, though it lists all four hard drives.

The article clarifies how UEFI and traditional BIOS work. Your motherboard originally came with UEFI BIOS. When Windows 10 was installed on the SSD, it likely formatted the drive using GPT partitions and added an EFI boot loader. Your DG33M03 board uses non-UEFI BIOS, so it doesn’t accept the EFI boot loader or GPT table to start Windows 10. Changing the SSD to MBR might work but could cause data loss.
