The situation involves trying to switch from W10 to W7 on an old notebook. You've already prepared the W7 ISO and inserted the flash drive, but the system keeps restarting into W10 because the flash drive wasn't used with W7. After removing the battery, you restarted with the flash drive enabled, yet the installation remains stuck. The hard disk was factory reset recently, so it should be clean. You might need to ensure the correct boot order in BIOS/UEFI and verify the ISO path is set properly. Also, check for any lingering system files or corrupted partitions that could interfere with the switch.

You stopped the installation by removing the power source, and I'm here to clarify what happened. Did you successfully launch from your USB drive using Windows 7?

You're asking about why resetting a hard drive seems like a quick fix, especially after Windows 10 installation, and why you might still prefer Windows 7. It’s likely you want to understand the process and your reasons for choosing one version over another.

I stopped the W10 setup by removing the battery, sorry for the poor English. I attempted it immediately after interrupting, but it keeps taking me back to the W10 installation page.

I've already tested the W10 on this machine, so I'm using the internal storage. I need Windows 7 since it has an Intel Atom processor with 1GB DDR2 memory.

Consider installing Windows 10 first, then restart the laptop and boot from a USB with the Windows 7 ISO. After installation, choose to format the disk at that point.

Attempted to proceed; ensure the internal drive boots successfully to start the Windows 10 setup. If the boot fails, the top error message appears—check for possible fixes or hardware issues.

You meant to begin the laptop without connecting a USB, then let Windows 10 set up, and once it's installed, plug in the USB to boot into Windows 7. Yes, that worked.

However, there are no W10 files present on that USB drive. It begins with the internal storage, which I have already reset to factory settings. The timeline is now ready. I performed a factory reset, then powered on the laptop without using any USB drive—only the internal drive—and it proceeded to install W10 autonomously. But I stopped it by disconnecting the battery.

No problem, I made sure to clarify. Let me know if you need anything else.
