I’m looking to purchase my initial desktop computer specifically for playing *The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition*. I’ve long desired to experience the game on a PC, but haven’t been able to until now, and I require guidance in selecting a pre-assembled machine capable of handling it with extensive modifications (an estimated 200 or more). I’ve identified two potential options within my price range, but I’m uncertain whether they are suitable. One is available at https://www.ibuypower.com/Store/AMD-Special-B, and the other at https://www.letsbld.com/starter-pc. Could you offer some assistance, as I’m quite new to this technology? 🙁

Modding frequently overlooks device specifications, resulting in unoptimized performance; you could load Skyrim with extensive visual enhancements and numerous detailed characters and artificial intelligence, pushing your system to its limits. A powerful processor, such as a Ryzen 9 3900X, would be beneficial, or alternatively, a 2700X for a lower price point. A suitable motherboard like the Tomahawk Max is recommended, along with 32GB of memory, which can quickly become a limiting factor. Graphics cards are typically less demanding, and an older RX 580 with 8GB of VRAM would provide a solid foundation for future upgrades.

Modding software often neglects to consider your computer's specifications, meaning it doesn’t perform any efficiency improvements. You could load Skyrim with a massive number of detailed graphics and artificial intelligence, essentially pushing your system to its absolute limits. A powerful processor, such as a Ryzen 9 3900x, would be beneficial for this endeavor. A more affordable option is a Ryzen 2700x, paired with a suitable B450 motherboard like the Tomahawk Max. Supplementing this setup with 32GB of RAM is also advisable, as it can quickly become a resource bottleneck. The graphics card tends to be slightly less demanding, and a used RX 580 with 8GB of memory would offer a solid foundation for future upgrades.

I'd personally recommend purchasing a physical copy, as it offers greater longevity and allows you to utilize the secondhand market. Furthermore, if you’re heavily invested in numerous modifications, consider opting for the unaltered Skyrim experience instead.
