Help, PC dead?
Help, PC dead?
I was testing PUBG and achieving around 70 fps. This isn't the first time my PC has been used for that game at those settings. Suddenly, the fans got very loud, I wasn't sure which ones were getting hotter. I powered down the computer right away, thinking it might be overheating and risking damage. After waiting 10 to 15 minutes, I tried turning it back on—it didn’t come back. The fans and GPU lights are all on, but there’s no display output. I changed the display port to HDMI on the motherboard, assuming a GPU issue, but nothing improved. None of the diagnostic indicators on my motherboard are lighting up.
My PC specs:
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 3.6 GHz, 6-core processor
- Gigabyte B450 Gaming X ATX AM4 motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 memory
- Sabrent Rocket 1 Tb NVMe SSD
- Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 8 GB VRAM
- Corsair RM550x (2018), 550 W, 80+ Gold certified
- Power supply: Gigabyte GAMING OC with ATX design
What further steps should I take to help identify the issue?
It might be the graphics card fans you mentioned. Possibly related to Vbios, which controls the BIOS of the graphics card. If corrupted, it can cause unusual behavior. Usually, the screen turns black, the fans spin wildly, and the PC fails to restart. It could also involve the power supply unit. Try using a different graphics card to test. If you don’t have another one, consider replacing the 3060Ti. Check the debug LEDs to see if the system boots without graphics, which would indicate the issue isn’t with the whole PC.
Thank you for your feedback. I attempted the steps you mentioned, removed the GPU, retried, but the issue persisted—same results, fans activated, no debug indicators, no display output. After that, I reinstalled the GPU and still encountered the same problem.
