I read similar articles, but they use too much technical language and I don’t get them.
The review focuses on performance needs, especially when using heavy software like Autodesk 3DS Max.
I need to know the best CPU settings for stability and speed without damaging the device.
A short guide on suitable configurations would be really helpful.
I’m not familiar with computer engineering, but I want to stay within my comfort zone.
My current setup includes: Windows 10 Pro, i7-5820K CPU, NVIDIA GTX 960, and a few drives.
I also have an H100i GTX cooler installed.

Since I have the same processor, perhaps I can assist a bit.
My specific setup is listed below with voltage and frequency details, though performance changes a lot during overclocking.
The only advice I’d give is to keep the processor under 1.3 volts for continuous use.

This was a helpful tutorial when I first overcloked (so much easier than reading!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CHs5_TdpXE
If you're planning to change it, make sure to check an aftermarker cooler. Stock just isn't up to the task.

Hey there, is it safe to push the OC to 4.5ghz as mentioned? I'm worried about potential problems if my computer encounters issues, and I don't want to deal with fixing them myself. Is that figure a guarantee? Also, could you recommend a beginner-friendly tutorial? The one at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ikq6CJBv_uA? He increases it to 4ghz—does that mean it's safer to go higher, and how much should I aim for without running into trouble? He mentions an uncore ratio of 100 below my CPU speed, so in this case 39. But he says 33—what should I set without testing? He suggests it would need some testing, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

If you want to OC though you need to definitely look at an aftermarker cooler. Stock just can't handle it.
The 5820k does not come with a stock cooler so he has to have something non stock.
Which now that i think about it there is no mention of what cooler you have OP
I personally dont touch uncore on mine so i dont know of any performance gains or anything like that from it

As you mentioned, there was no reference to a cooler, so I assumed it was stock. All the helpful details though, since I'm considering one for an upgrade.

I'm using a h100i gtx cooler. I intend to run my computer solely for rendering, 3ds max, and Photoshop. I occasionally play games, but they're not graphics-heavy (like League of Legends).
