Hello, sorry for the language issues—I'm French. I'm having trouble with my PC setup. I bought an i7-9700KF and installed it on an H370 Aorus Gaming 3 Wifi. During OCCT's power test, the CPU spikes to 100°C, even with a Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler. It works fine on another motherboard and another cheap one, but not on a standard Intel board. Disabling Intel Turbo Boost helps, reaching around 75°C. The same issue appears with another Dark Rock Pro 4. I'm currently using an i7-9700K and want to see if it improves things, but it's taking some time. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated!
Did you remove the plastic covering the cooler? Is there new thermal paste present? Was the mounting secured properly? Are the fans operating?
Yup, i've done all of that. Good and fresh thermal paste, the cpu cooler seems to be good in presure too. I've updated the BIOS of the two motherboard too. I'm totally lost. I've set the fans speed to the maximum to try, i have 3 or 4 ° less.
I work in a workshop where I build and fix computers. Definitely, I’m comfortable with the process. I’ve checked at least ten times during testing—using various thermal pastes, inside the chassis or outside, with another power supply, different RAM modules. If I swap the CPU cooler to the opposite side, the first fan gets too close to the GPU (RTX 2070 super). I also face the same issue when the motherboard is placed outside the case. On an MSI B360-A PRO, the CPU doesn’t reach high temperatures (around 80°C). The only change I can try is using a different CPU. The room stays at a comfortable temperature with fresh air. My case is a Bequiet PureBase 500.
The duration depends on various factors, but under normal conditions, 100° can be achieved quickly. Poor ventilation and high temperatures may lead to such readings.
The room temperature is around 24°C. We also have an air conditioner. With the two main motherboards, it reaches 100°C in just 5 seconds. The MSI B360-A PRO heats up more slowly and stays below 80°C. For airflow, there are two fans in front of the case, one at the back, and two on top.
