Hello internet friends. I've noticed my main workstation hasn't been updated for a while, especially since I turned off automatic updates. I ran a manual check and got this message: Last checked: 12/08/2019 (August for my US friends). It looks like important security and quality fixes are missing. There were some issues installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want help finding a solution or contacting support, this might be useful: (0x80070424). I followed Google's advice, but either I'm not advanced enough or they didn't provide all the details I need. Could you guide me? Should I use a boot USB to repair the OS, or is there a way to force the update now? I'm not upgrading to WIN11, just updating to the latest version of WIN10. Thanks!

We’ve gathered as much detail as needed. Many solutions exist, but identifying your starting point and present situation helps begin effectively.

This typically arises after a prolonged period since the last update, especially during initial configuration

Many broken Windows systems in Vietnam struggle to install updates correctly. Some even damage the update files.

I own this system since 2018. The WIN10 came through the official MICROSOFT update, which everyone else could use for free to upgrade to Windows 10 and get a genuine copy. That’s exactly what I did. But now the updates keep bothering me, so I turned them off. Recently I thought about updating again. There isn’t a strong reason beyond having it updated on my laptop and a slight change in how the experience works. What should I do?

Yes, there have been times when people adjusted Windows settings or performed updates to improve performance.

I don’t have advanced knowledge about this. I didn’t realize I’d be doing something like this. I’m using Windows just like any regular user, and I don’t have any experience changing the system settings.
