I just went through the new revelations 2 and kept getting that unsettling thought about Claire's appearance. HER FACE SEEMS LIKE A MAN OR EVEN LESS ATTRACTIVE THAN USUAL, which probably isn't the case. I really see why—those pictures show her in a much more appealing way. From the Degeneration film they made, she looked so cute and well-presented. It makes me wonder if the designer who worked on her before was replaced or changed. I was excited to see her again in the Res game, but honestly, I was let down by that face.
They softened her overly affectionate side, and now she’s in her late 30s or early 40s. Looking cute at that stage makes sense given her age. The wikia notes she was born in 79, and Rev2 is from 2011, placing her around 32 years old.
It's not only my opinion that she looks different; others thought she was aged poorly even when realism was increased. I believe their work could have improved facial structure significantly. This isn't about color or texture choices, but rather the underlying form. She was 26 at the time of Degeneration.
There are indeed critics pointing out her appearance, but I see it as just the result of aging. After six years of decline, looks naturally shift. It’s like a game—people can shape how she appears, though I think they aimed to portray her in an older light. As for the quality of the game, it’s subjective and depends on personal taste.
It's actually quite pleasant, though it doesn't resemble a Nintendo DS version anymore. I'm not sure if this is just my perception, but the mouse control combined with the camera felt strange—like the camera was frozen in place even when you were moving. It would keep trying to go left after you turned right, so I ended up relying on the Xbox controller. It reminded me of those games where you have to aim while the game shifts your aim, making it more challenging, like in some drunk games.
I really prefer the updated version more. It appears more genuine as a real person instead of a poorly adapted anime character.
