Your budget is less than 1k.
The notebook size you're thinking about is 15''.
You prefer a screen resolution of 1080p.
You need a portable laptop, not a desktop replacement.
You're unsure about battery life and are not sure how long you plan to use the laptop.
You don’t require a gaming laptop; just games with suitable settings.
You’re not certain about storage capacity and don’t have a specific idea.
You’d like to keep your laptop as long as possible.
You need an office program, web browsing, and video watching capabilities.
You don’t have a clear preference for optical drives like DVD ROM or Blu-ray.
Please share links to any sites you’re considering for purchase.
You’re open to keeping the laptop for as long as possible.
You’re interested in photo/video editing and other similar tasks.
You prefer brands you like and dislike, with reasons for each.
You live in England.
If needed, give extra details about your preferences.

When thinking about extending the life of your laptop... what importance would you give to being able to upgrade its memory and storage later on? For many extremely portable models, there’s essentially no possibility of upgrading, or upgrades are very limited to just swapping out one m.2 drive for another.

I would definitely appreciate the possibility of adding additional memory or storage later if needed.

I'm worried you may need to relax some of your weight and portability rules a bit.
Currently, the only laptops that support significant upgrades are typically gaming-focused models, which don't align well with your needs.
Look for reviews that go beyond basic specs—those that cover aspects like colour gamut, calibration, and maintenance including disassembly.

What are your thoughts on this laptop? Is it a suitable choice for you, or are there more favorable options available?

Did not find any review for that model myself, but that laptop had one channel of RAM soldered to the motherboard, which is fine if you don't intend to go above 16GB of RAM with it, which is more than enough for your use case.
Pick the one with 100% sRGB panel, if colour reproduction is more important to you than touch panel control. Nothing is said about brightness, however - I'd recommend seeing one in person in your local computer place (if one does exist), and see if you are happy with what it could offer.
Discrete GPU is largely not necessary, if you don't play games or use any productive applications - video editing, CAD, etc. - that may use its capability.
i5-10300H is more than a year old. A newer generation is long available, but might still be more costly and not provide much improvement for your purpose.
As of alternatives, I do not know enough about what's available around your place to have any specific recommendation. Others would know more.

Thank you for your response. Page 18 of the manual mentions a brightness of 300 nits:

I would like a laptop with an 11th generation CPU and iris graphics, which seem to offer better performance than the HDU. However, I haven't found any available options from Dell or other brands that also include the 100% sRGB panel. This would likely require a significant price increase. That's why I'm considering this model.
