Hello, I noticed your B450 Gaming pro carbon AC motherboard with Intel 9260 and 160MHz WiFi card. During speed tests, it’s showing under 60 Mbps, while your old laptop with Intel Dual Band WiFi 7260 reached close to 100 Mbps. What could be causing this difference?

Speed changes are typical. Ensure your wifi card drivers are current. I've observed significant variations due to time of day, overall usage, and distance from the router.

you're experiencing slower speeds than expected, even though other connections perform well.

Compare antenna positioning with the WiFi router's placement. For speed tests, multiple runs on the same network and channel typically yield consistent results.

antenna is aligned straight with the modem. on my computer the connection stays about 80-90 mbps

Conduct a wireless site assessment to verify WiFi channel integrity against neighboring networks. Identify any interference sources and adjust frequencies accordingly—switch to less congested channels. For 2.4GHz networks, which are often crowded in urban areas, consider setting the channel width to 40MHz if it avoids overlap. Similarly, for 5GHz channels, increase the channel width from 40/80/160MHz while ensuring no significant overlap with other access points. Avoid making changes if substantial interference is expected from nearby APs.
