Help me Upgrade my PC
Help me Upgrade my PC
Hi Guys,
I own this PC for a while now and it was pre-built. I’m considering some upgrades because I’ve been experiencing crashes, blue screens during gameplay (especially DayZ), and GPU performance issues with high utilization. It seems it’s time for an upgrade if possible. If not, please let me know how to fix the problems or offer advice on improvements.

How to Request New Build or Upgrade Guidance
This post is inspired by a previous thread about asking for new build advice. I put together this guide because many users are seeking upgrade recommendations on both this forum and the CPU discussion boards, and I think it’s helpful to move forward with clear suggestions.
Please share your budget, preferred retailer, and location.
You mentioned experiencing crashes and blue screens during gameplay—especially while playing DayZ—and GPU usage spikes. It seems like an upgrade might be necessary. If not, let me know how you’d like to resolve these issues.
It looks like the problem may appear only during gaming sessions. You could consider swapping your PSU for a more reliable donor unit (borrowed if possible) before proceeding with an upgrade.
In short, this seems like a situation where you’re either tackling a BSoD issue or planning an upgrade—please keep it focused on one topic.
Upgrading is largely a personal decision; it hinges on your financial limits and how often you intend to refresh the system. Many users replace their PCs every three to four years. Since justifying expenses can be tough, I’m still using my machine despite it being close to seven years old. Please share a budget if you’d like to begin planning the build. Knowing your preferred manufacturers—such as AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA—would also help.
I believe only your motherboard, RAM, and possibly the cooler might be repurposed.
Regarding the upgrade suggestions, we require additional details as mentioned by Lutfij.

Additional thoughts: I’m not the best at judging what’s good or bad. I just want to see if upgrading my PC is worth it for a reasonable price, or if saving now would be better. Most importantly, why am I doing this upgrade? The game crashes and freezes a lot when playing.**
You have the option to enhance your existing PC, but you'll need to accumulate more funds. It's recommended to upgrade the CPU and PSU immediately, followed by the GPU later.
