After fitting the Ryzen 7 5800X onto your Asus ROG Strix B450-f board, everything functions normally until startup. Once powered on, power appears but displays are blank, monitors don’t show video, and the motherboard shows a DRAM error despite no visible issues. RAM seems fine and the CPU is operating without problems. To resolve this, check the power connections, ensure the motherboard is properly seated, verify the BIOS settings, and test the RAM with another device if possible.
For a brand new setup you probably need to install a BIOS upgrade to run the 5800X model. Refer to section 3.11 of the owner’s manual for details. This board doesn’t appear to include a BIOS flashback function, so you may want to purchase a compatible CPU—such as Ryzen 1000 or 2000—and use the flash utility to install the latest BIOS that supports the 5800X.
I solved the issue—I realized the old CPU was a Ryzen 5 3600. After reinstalling, I found bent or missing pins. The computer worked fine until I removed it, which broke the CPU. Thanks for your assistance!
It's not uncommon for issues to arise. Your choices would likely be either getting a local repair service to upgrade the BIOS for a charge, or searching the used market for an affordable early-gen AM4 chip to install temporarily while you update the BIOS. I have a Ryzen 5 1400 that could be useful in such situations.
