Help me to choose motherboard please
Hey everyone, I've sent my B450 F Gaming ROG Strix for RMA and have everything else ready. I'm excited to get the B450 F Gaming from RMA and plan to sell the B450 F Gaming once I'm done. I've found some motherboards that you might like. Which one do you think is the best? Should I go with the R7 1700 as a backup, or wait for Zen 3 for better deals? Maybe something like the 3700X or 3600X and an A550 might be cheaper later? What do you think?
The B550 won't accept the chip. You can't market a motherboard as brand new if it was damaged and returned for repair. Be truthful about your purchase. After the RMA, test the board to confirm it functions properly before claiming it's new.
the b450 tomahawk works only with ryan 3000 series and higher chips. using the b450 f might not be compatible.
in the us the b450-a pro max matches the price of a standard tomahawk max, around 100 usd. zen 3 could slightly influence zen 2 pricing but likely not much (around 10%), and it's still a few months away.
I’d hold off until I receive the RMA, otherwise opt for the B450 Tomahawk. Selling a previously RMA’d motherboard as brand new is really unprofessional—it’s not new at all. They’ll either repair yours and return it or send you a board they’ve already fixed. Either way, it won’t be new. You might not even get a product box or accessories; they’ve only sent back the board and I/O shield before. It really depends on the situation. Getting a brand new board is uncommon—they’d have to be completely out of stock with fixed units.
They perform better yet come with extra, unnecessary parts. The B450 Tomahawk Max offers the lowest price, though it’s still sufficient for your 1700X. Your 3700X works well when overclocked on the B450 Tomahawk Max.
Actually, the tomahawk performs significantly better than the Aorus board with those specific settings, while the x470 feels average.
