Help me overclock !
Hi,
when I bought my PC it was overclocked by the retailer who sold it to me. After updating my motherboard, I lost my overclock. I can confirm this because I checked my BIOS and my computer keeps freezing randomly with a sound buzzing from speakers or headset for 1-2 seconds while gaming.
My specs:
Liquid Cooling: Cryorig A40 Liquid Cooling
As I don’t know anything about overclocking, please be gentle with me.
I’m using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.
Freezes may stem from various components like GPU, HDD, RAM, CPU, WIN, etc. Since they occurred only after the MB update, I’ll focus on CPU and RAM issues.
First, turn off any power-saving features in both Windows and BIOS.
For RAM, enable XMP.

For CPU, use Ai tweaker, set CPU core ratio, sync all cores, then enter your previous OC (40 = 4.0GHz).
In the Digi+VRM section, adjust LLC to Level 3.
Also disable iGPU as it might be causing problems.

I'd start by performing a BIOS reset to factory settings and then check the PC to confirm it's not freezing or locking up. It should function correctly before you try any overclocking. All BIOS settings have been restored to defaults since I last updated my motherboard.
I'd start with a BIOS reset to factory settings and then check the PC to ensure it's not freezing or locking up. It should function correctly before you try any overclocking. All BIOS settings have been restored to defaults since I last updated my motherboard. Did you also update all drives connected to the motherboard, including the chipset?
I'd start by performing a BIOS reset to factory settings and then test the PC to confirm it's functioning correctly before attempting any overclocking. It should operate properly at that point.
Just a note, updating the BIOS doesn't guarantee a full factory reset; sometimes it doesn't work as expected. I recommend trying the defaults again just to be safe.
