Help me, I need to speed up my Q6600 to 3.0 ghz.
Hi everyone.
I need some assistance to boost my Q6600 CPU from 2.4 GHz to 3.0 GHz. I'm using an ep35-ds3l board and a 550-watt power supply. The cooler is decent but I'm not sure what model it is. Any advice would be great! 😊
Consider increasing the VCore to 1.25, adjusting the FSB to 1333 and testing it out
Consider trying to increase the VCore setting (CPU voltage up to 1.25, FSB at 1333) and see if it works. I adjusted the voltage but only got 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 for FSB, and set the host clock to 333 with a 3.0 GHz speed. After restarting, my PC would freeze and then restart, but it didn’t actually overclock. Are there other methods to achieve this?
Tradesman1 :
Try 1.27 (if no joy can go higher, just slowly 0.1 at a time up to 1.35 or so) and monitor temps
I can ignore the FSB that you said in the first reply, right? only cpu voltage?
Tradesman1:
333 means 1333, so you need the voltage to operate it properly. That's similar to what I thought about a black screen. I increased the Vcore or CPU voltage to 1.27, but it didn't work then. I tried 1.35 and still had the same issue. I recall overclocking the same PC to 3.50 GHz, but I don't understand why it doesn't work at all.
