By then, Borderlands 3 should be worth about $40, which means you could easily buy it for half that amount online. You could do that right now with Borderlands 3 alone. Half of $60 is $30, so that’s what you’d pay now. I’ve seen it drop to $20 to $25 a few times, but it’s usually around $30 to $40.
So what about the other Borderlands games? If you haven’t finished them yet—or even played them—there’s no reason to skip them. They all offer the same kind of campaign: kill this, loot this, upgrade this, repeat.

In my opinion, the original version is the best overall. By a wide margin. I got exactly what I wanted from each Borderlands title. Some might argue 2 is the top one, others might prefer the prequel, but I respect all views since they’re all great games, in my opinion.
Borderlands original stands out as the top choice since you get to play as Lilith. I’ll keep my thoughts on BL3 pending my full experience.
