Help is welcome. I bought a new GPU (6700xt) at a good price. I initially considered using my POS I3-9100F for a while, but realized CPU limitations caused issues. Should I upgrade to a different CPU? The 12400 is affordable, but the 13400 is just released and the 12600 (non-K) is on sale. Would it be worth spending an extra $60 to move from 12400 to 13400 or to the 12600? Also, I think my 2200MHz RAM needs an upgrade. Lol. By the way, I’m using a 1440P monitor.

12600 seems unlikely, 13400 hasn't been benchmarked much, but the K series gap might justify a look.

Not sure If this is a legit benchmark but here it is. About 10-20% diff in 1080p high framerate situation. Not much of a difference on the lower end.

The 13400 is essentially the 12600k but newer and slightly faster. The 13500 and 13600 are arriving soon as well, featuring an additional 4 e cores and a price hike of 15$. Regarding memory, if it's 2133mhz, upgrading to 3200mhz CL16 components will definitely stand out on the 13th generation models.

Would you prefer the higher price of 13,400F or a lower one around 13,500? I believe the cost variation between those two options is roughly 40 to 50 dollars.

The 12600 non K model lacks e cores and is essentially a copy of a CPU. Just grab the 12600K or 13400, at least.
